Privacy policy

At GMP we take data protection seriously. This privacy policy sets out how we safeguard the privacy of our customers and of the users of our website www.gmp.be. If you still have questions after reading this policy, or if you have experienced problems with our services or website, you can always contact us. 

This policy is fully compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter GDPR) of May 2018. 

Privacy and GDPR

  1. Who is protected by this privacy policy?

    Every natural person who leaves personal data with us. Company data does not fall under the GDPR. 
     

  2. What does ‘processing of data’ mean and who is responsible for it?

    The processing of data refers to every action carried out on and with data. This includes storing, collecting, editing, copying, transferring and deleting data.

    GMP is the controller responsible for the processing of data. For specific questions about the data and its processing, you can reach us on our general telephone number.

     

  3. Which data do we process?

    Data that visitors leave on our website (name, e-mail, telephone). Analytical data that we obtain through cookies and the Google Analytics pixel. Data of our customers. 
     

  4. What do we use this data for?

    GMP collects the personal information required to guarantee the optimal operation of the site. GMP may use this information for commercial actions or messages. Analytical data obtained on the website gmp.be is automatically anonymised and cannot be used by GMP to identify or contact you personally. We use this data to optimise our website where necessary.

    GMP also collects information in log files. This information is used for internal purposes, such as traffic and profile analysis, in order to further refine the range of services on the site.

     

  5. How do we secure your data?

    At GMP all data is held on the servers of Mink nv. These are not accessible from the outside and are protected by a firewall. We also make a triple backup of this data. These 3 backups are not connected to each other and 2 of them are not stored at Mink itself. In this way our data is always accessible to us, yet still protected. 
     

  6. What if something does go wrong with the security of your data?

    Under the GDPR, GMP must report any incident affecting the security of the data of natural persons to all those involved within 72 hours. We then do everything possible to resolve these problems as quickly as possible and we update our security policy to avoid similar problems in the future.

    Company data does not fall under the GDPR. Because the loss, damage or theft of this data may harm the operation of GMP, we will also communicate this to our customers where relevant. 

  7. Do we sell your data to third parties or pass your data on?

    GMP undertakes never to release your data to third parties without the explicit consent of the party concerned.
     

  8. How do you, as a customer, determine which personal data we may use, and how?

    Customers of GMP acting in their business capacity have in principle no say in what we do with their company data. Commercial e-mails always offer the option to unsubscribe. For questions, please contact our DPO. 
     

  9. What are your rights and how can you exercise them?

    If you are a natural person, you have the right at all times to request, inspect, correct, have transferred or have deleted your personal data. Please contact our DPO by telephone or e-mail.
     

  10. How long do we keep your personal data?

    Personal data of natural persons is kept for a maximum of 5 years. We may continue to keep customer data, as this does not fall under the GDPR. We may keep data in legal and historical documents for as long as GMP exists. 
     

  11. What about our websites, cookies and mobile apps?

    GMP uses so-called ‘cookies’ (small pieces of information written to the user’s hard drive) to make the website easier to use.

    On our websites we ask you for information in certain cases (for example in the contact form).

    GMP has no mobile apps.

     

  12. Cookies and what they do for you

    Cookies often get a bad press. In most cases they serve a clear function. They are small pieces of invisible, hidden text placed on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) with a specific purpose. On our website they serve solely to give you a better browsing experience.

    we can deploy our marketing more efficiently, to your benefit

    What our cookies do NOT do:

    collect personal or sensitive information without your consent. The information in the cookies is automatically anonymised and cannot be used to identify or contact you.

    pass your data on to third parties
    pay sales commissions

    Our cookies therefore serve the functionality of our website and collect analytical data (Google Analytics) about how visitors behave on our website.

    How do I get rid of them? Or allow them after all?

    You cannot choose not to allow them, unless you leave our website.

    You can, however, disable cookies in your browser settings. Many websites do use cookies that, for example, make online payments safer, remember your login details, or make sure a YouTube video can be played.

    Your consent

    The information we collect with cookies is automatically anonymised. This means that we cannot use that information to identify or contact you. That is why the law states that we do not need your consent to use these cookies.
